Founded by Markee Richmond and Arlo Tate, LowKey carries forward the independent spirit formed in Richmond, California. Before the company, Next Level—the three Tate brothers and their cousin Markee Richmond—created their own recordings and shows, then worked with Paul Stewart of Power Move Productions. Quincy Jones selected “I Don’t Know” to open the 1997 Sprung soundtrack.
